ABSTRACT
Here it was the last week of August, and Sun was still scheduled to leave Washington on September 15. With strands of many conversations dangling, and preparations for the return to Peking hardly begun, there was too little time. Sun and I chose to do what we did, knowing we might never do things not now done.
