ABSTRACT

Top management is a team, a mixture of marketing skill, technological skill and personnel management skill. The competition of the company in the market requires the organization to have strong competitive power, and marketing ability is one of the key resources. Finding the seeds of technological innovation is important in Japan because there has been a technology gap, and because the consumer is receptive to change. As a result, technological skill is one of the key resources, and by having a high percentage of engineering and natural science graduates in top management, innovation has been easily introduced. There are several reasons why the board is not the actual governing body. The important ones are the extent of divorce of management from ownership is advanced in Japan, most of the directors are fulltime company members, and the management committee of fulltime senior directors functions effectively.
