ABSTRACT

We need to publicize the fact that, while college takes a minimum of four years, so do most apprenticeship programs. The big distinction between the two is that during the apprenticeship, the learner is continuously earning a steadily increasing living, and at the conclusion of training, with the journeyman’s certificate, is not looking for an entry-level job. She or he either already has a secure position, or can readily get one through the union hall at top pay.
