ABSTRACT

This is a critical time for women and girls in vocational programs … [i]f the trends discussed here continue, drop-outs are likely to increase, supportive programs will continue to disappear, and many women will be locked into traditionally female, low-wage occupational categories. Students, educators, advocates, and policymakers must work together to support these students and make sure they continue to have an opportunity to prepare for the world of work and economic independence.
