ABSTRACT
Fan Ruijuan, b. 1924, in Huangze zhen, Shengxian County, Zhejiang Province, is also known as Fan Zhushan. She is a performing artist within the yueju genre, a form of local opera in which all the roles were traditionally played by females. Fan Ruijuan is a member of the Chinese Association of Folk Opera Performers and artistic consultant to Shanghai Yueju Theater.
