ABSTRACT
C alifornia is a land of many unusual things. Few, though, are more unusual than one that is to be found in a secluded spot along the northern coast. Its brilliant copper roof gleams golden in the sunlight and is often used as a location reference by passing ships. This amazing place, tucked away in the coastal redwood forest, is in fact a Tibetan Buddhist monastery known by the name Odiyan.
