ABSTRACT

In earlier parts of this work, we examined the question of justice within the confines of the nation-state. Now we inquire about the possibility of international justice. We need to ask, What does justice require on the international scene in terms of aid, intervention, and immigration policies? What obligations do richer and more powerful nations have to economically poorer and weaker nations or to oppressed human beings? Our discussion centers around three questions:

1. Does international justice require that wealthier states provide economic aid to impoverished Third World countries, for example, by providing food and equipment to these countries in order to prevent widespread suffering and death?
