ABSTRACT
When I wrote my review of the new Teubneriana by Silvia Ottaviano (Bucolica) and Gian Biagio Conte (Georgica) for the Gymnasium,1 I made myself guilty of a serious oversight. I did not notice Conte's conjecture on 3. 159. Instead of et quos he wrote si quos. It immediately came to my attention when I got Conte's Ope ingeni in my hands where he has defended his choice in more explicit terms. I agree with Conte that something is amiss with line 159, but I am sorry to say that I cannot agree with his emendation. I start by quoting his app. crit.
