ABSTRACT
This and the following issues concerning the text of the Sixth Book were announced by me in my review of Nicholas Horsfall's edition and commentary on Aeneid 6, Gymnasium 2014 and are in a sense an extension of that review. Owing to restrictions on space, I had not there the opportunity to argue in any detail on a number of interesting issues. As Horsfall's commentary provides such a wealth of documentation I can profit by going much easier in medias res. It will at the same time be evident that I owe in many cases to Horsfall the impulse to rethink problems too often neglected or left unsolved.
