ABSTRACT

Occasionally a child or two or an entire family is so lovable and specific, that rather than a deterrent to love, they are actually an opening to it. In Jerry Maguire, Dorothy has an adorable little boy played by Jonathan Lipnicki. Little Ray disappears at the airport causing a panic in the baggage claim, and then reappears, triumphantly riding the baggage carousel. This is the moment that Jerry first really notices Dorothy. The kid is the crack. He is too cute with his round glasses and blonde hair sticking straight up like he is electrified. He also knows the exact weight of the human head. In The Goodbye Girl, Paula, played by Marsha Mason, is a single mother with a smart-mouthed hilarious 10-year-old daughter Lucy, and Richard Dreyfuss's Elliot falls for both of them.
