ABSTRACT

Professional photographers have an obligation to not be lazy. In one sense, photography is so easy. But at a higher level, it takes a professional approach for consistently powerful results. Having an up-to-date equipment checklist will make packing easier, make photographers more efficient, and will lessen the chances of leaving important items behind. In addition to listing camera and lighting equipment with their serial numbers, they must include items such as filters, a cable release, AA and AAA batteries, chargers and electrical plug adaptors, and a surge control box for international assignments. Depth of field is one of the most important tools photographers have to feature the elements they want to highlight in the scene in front of their lens. Filmmakers often use neutral density filters since they don't have the flexibility of going to high shutter speeds in order to record their scene with a wider aperture.
