ABSTRACT
This essay was inspired (breathed in) by a splendid weekend organized by Lord and Lady Hylton at Ammerdown House where some twenty Shakespeare scholars, led by Professor Desai, and a few interested though relatively ignorant people such as myself, discussed the characters and meanings of the most celebrated play ever written - Hamlet.
