ABSTRACT

Surely the most interesting man in the history of perception is Johannes Kepler (1571-1630). Living at the birth of modern science, his achievements range from discovering the fundamental laws of planetary motion to discovering the optics of the eye, as well as writing the first science fiction. All this he did, and more, while serving as astronomer and astrologer to Rudolf II, King of Bohemia, and later to Wallenstein, Prince of Sagan. Kepler was indeed the magician of science.
