195Some of the people you know are probably prejudiced against one or more minority groups. If you are a member of a minority group yourself, you have probably been on the receiving end of prejudice from others. Why do you think people are prejudiced? Is it because of their personality, their experiences, the influence of other people, or some other factor?
In view of the harm and misery caused by prejudice, it is clearly very desirable that society takes steps to reduce and eliminate it. This is likely to prove difficult to achieve. How do you think the authorities might attempt to make our society less prejudiced?
