ABSTRACT

In The Social Scene, the value of scenes and communities is presented. Networking is explored as a necessary component to a successful career. Malcolm Gladwell’s concept of Connectors, Mavens, and Salesmen are ideal types of influential, important individuals that should be sought out. This chapter also introduces three archetypal characters that should be avoided or handled with caution: vampires, werewolves, and zombies. Chapter 5 concludes with miscellaneous thoughts and strategies for navigating various social scenes in the music industry.
