ABSTRACT

The concept of 'flipped learning' is a pedagogical approach where the typical classwork and homework elements are swapped or 'flipped'. Homework booklets may be considered the opposite of flipped learning and is probably the more traditional approach to homework. Essentially, what homework booklets provide is an opportunity for students to gain more knowledge and understanding or to apply their knowledge and understanding to a series of questions or tasks. The key to high-quality homework is to deliver activities that are challenging for all, engaging and motivating. If the activities are relevant to students and they can see the worth in the work, then all this together can result in excellent work and an improving performance from the students. Time invested creating challenges can prove dividend when get back high-quality work which has obviously engaged and enthused students.
