ABSTRACT

Posttraumatic growth (PTG) has been studied primarily as an experience of individuals; however, PTG can affect the experience of not only close others but larger groups. In this chapter, we first review studies investigating the PTG reports by partners and siblings of trauma survivors and the relationships between their PTG and survivors’ PTG. This chapter also covers PTG in couples who share traumatic experiences, at a group level, including families and organizations, and ends with the discussion of the ways to facilitate PTG at the level of groups, communities, and societies.
