ABSTRACT

The session draws on three elements that make it unique. The setting is the school site. The character is the pupil, telling the story in first person as they experience it first-hand. The activity uses authentic local area history, and also brings that period to life. The writing takes place in distinct scenes, which, when joined together, complete a seamless flow of story. (For the purposes of this activity I have selected the Mesolithic period, which would have common value regardless of where the school is based, but the material is easily adaptable.)
