ABSTRACT
Much of the recent analysis of texts has concentrated, as the previous chapter indicated, on avant-garde texts which by definition can only be comprehended in their original language. It is virtually impossible to 'translate' because this notion involves a transference of a 'content', a positionality and discourse, from one (neutral) system of signifiers to another. To transfer the sliding of signifiers and the disturbance of positionality involves a difficult task, of writing the whole text anew. For our purposes, then, it is impossible to assume any prior knowledge of such texts.
