ABSTRACT

Introduction In this chapter, you will explore ACT’s present-moment awareness process, learning more about the importance of the here and now in daily life. In particular, you will unpack the relationship between the past and future and emotional disorders, as well as develop an awareness of God’s active, loving presence through several exercises. Building on prior chapters, you will learn about the salience of silence and stillness in early desert writings, spending time with God as you surrender to him.
