ABSTRACT

Introduction In this chapter, you will explore ACT’s committed action process, which can help you to live out your values, rather than merely ponder them in an abstract manner. To actually “put the car in drive,” placing one foot in front of the other to get into the swing of life again, requires a willingness to press forward, in spite of what your mind says about any perceived obstacles that are in the way. Willingness, therefore, is about having the courage to create the type of life you can be proud of, even though you may continue to experience psychological pain in the process.
