ABSTRACT

The explosion of information and communications technologies in education leads one to an obvious question: What technologies might prove useful in support of educational motivation? This chapter presents a discussion of a number of technologies associated with each of the major clusters comprising embodied educational motivation. In support of physical factors there are many location awareness devices, 3D printers, and Makerspaces that could be used in meaningful ways. In support of affective actors, one might consider games, gamification, badges, and social networks. In support of cognitive factors, one might consider mind mapping, conversational agents, and dynamic formative feedback tools.
