Policy recommendations book
China’s water diplomacy features versatile and changing characters. Along with its water diplomacy, China has, to some degree, accommodated the concerns of its neighbouring riparian states, and is likely willing to commit to developing trust and collaboration over shared water management. This chapter further elaborates on why China’s water diplomacy, despite that temporary successes may have been achieved, is likely to fail in the long run. The chapter concludes by providing policy recommendations for how to best secure benefits from the sharing of international rivers in a peaceful and sustainable way.
