ABSTRACT
Providing workers with well-designed workstations, workplaces and equipment is not enough to ensure that they can work comfortably, safely and contentedly. Job and work organisation factors – such as speed of operation, rest breaks and rotation programmes – also need to be carefully designed, as they will determine how people relate to each other and with the production system.
