ABSTRACT
To be able to resolve a dispute, the protagonist and antagonist must be able to call on at least a minimum number of common starting points. Otherwise, there would be no point in the discussion at all, because it would be clear from the start that the protagonist had no chance of ever convincing the antagonist. For in that case, there is no realistic basis for achieving this interactional effect.
