ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the conversation among facilitator, three group players, and listeners who are named with alphabets from A to I, for expanding quartet improvisation. Group 1 and 2 contains four percussion players each. Group 3 contains saxophone player and two percussion players. Facilitator told to all that at time, the late 1960s or early 1970s, there was an ensemble of percussionists called M'Boom that played this kind of improvisation. He can easily imagine this last improvisation as being attractive to an audience at a Village coffee house. Player 3 thinks that he's talking about is not a tornado funnel, but just a small whirlwind. Player 5 told to facilitator that he did hear somebody just playing a sound and letting it ring, or on the marimba playing maybe playing in octaves, just one sound. All participants listen to playback of CD Tracks #12. After listening remaining player and listeners were also participated in the conversation and shared their thoughts.
