First step, Playing participants create spontaneous, free-form music in small groups of two to six performers. Third, Listening participants focus on improving listening skills noticing as much as possible about whatever is heard as a means of expanding musical vocabulary. Fourth, Questioning participants, in a group round-table format, raise and respond to appropriate self-directed questions in order to increase understanding and gain confidence. Creativity is a mystical quality possessed only by gifted individuals creativity can be viewed as nothing more than a commitment by anyone to make something. Fear of making music that might be judged as less profound than a symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven can be very inhibiting. Intuition is a nonrational means of selecting from among the numerous possibilities.
