ABSTRACT
BASIC DANCE* Man was not the first creature to dance. Long before he appeared upon the evolutionary scene, some animate thing sensed its life and moved solely as an expression of ecstasy. Through its own movement it was transported into an awareness of life beyond its more ordi nary functions. This I call dancing.
