ABSTRACT

The term "theology of art" simply refers to a discursive reflection over God in visual art. The theology of art investigates the relation between visual arts and God within the larger context of religion. Together with the space of the church it represents a diverse, comprehensive history, and in all its variety it includes us perceptually in a harmonic life rhythm in God's creation. In the formulation of a contextual art theology, the image-making of Bror Hjorth may teach us to respect the unique value of the visual media. The colour scale in the Jukkasjarvi triptych is based on primary colours. It is a relief carving, and the relief adds shades and volumes that change along with daylight's play through the church windows. As an applied pastoral strategy, liberation theology introduced alternative social survival networks in Peru, in Central and South America, and in almost every corner of the world.
