ABSTRACT

After a short stint at Arvind Mills in Ahmedabad, G.D. Barot decided to become an entrepreneur. He started trading in textile chemicals and subsequently went into their manufacturing. The slowdown in the textile market forced him to diversify into paints and polymers leading to the establishment of Gunjan Paints Limited. The industry has a number of foreign players, Indian players, medium-sized organizations like Gunjan Paints, as well as a large number of small organizations. The case discusses the journey of Gunjan Paints the current issues, and options for the future.
