ABSTRACT

Apang Manav Mandal, established for personal, educational, and vocational development of physically challenged people, runs primary and secondary schools, a computer training school, a workshop for fashion designing and garment making, a physiotherapy centre, and hostels for the inmates. With the overall economic and social development of India, and sustained campaigns by the government to eradicate polio, polio cases have declined drastically in recent times, and the United Nations has declared India as polio-free. Though this is a very happy situation for the institution, as it has been working for the amelioration of the physically challenged and advocating for programs for eradicating physically debilitating diseases such as polio, the organization is also in a dilemma on the future direction of the organization.
