ABSTRACT

Participating, anticipating, innovating, and, perhaps most importantly, celebrating, is how you will find your own way to make a profit and survive in the restaurant business. There must be a sense of energy and celebration that exists in your restaurant for it to attract and keep a grip on your customers. Promotion in your restaurant will be most effective if you plan far enough in advance to ensure a real "professional" effort. Remember, the restaurant industry is highly competitive and consumers do have a wide choice of places in which to spend their food service dollars. National and state restaurant associations have been providing excellent assistance for restaurateurs for numerous years. Additionally, the National Restaurant Association produces mountains of literature, conducts several yearly conferences, and provides a once-a-year show that brings all the information and support available into one location. The capital assets are only valuable to a restaurant if they can contribute to the earnings of profits.
