ABSTRACT
The REASONER; or Controversial Magazine was a London monthly that published twelve issues between June 1813 and July 1814. During this brief lifetime, the Reasoner included four reviews of works by Byron. The periodical seems to have been a “little magazine,” the work of one individual, who may well have been “the pennyless tenant of the garret” he describes in the opening paragraph of his review of The Corsair.
