Byron, The Island (1823) and [Byron] Don Juan, VI-VIII (1823); Monthly Review, 2nd Series, CI (July 1823), 316–321. The references in this article to earlier reviews in the Monthly give the same sense of the venerable continuity of this journal. The reviews of the two volumes by Byron arc, however, perfunctory.
