ABSTRACT

Byron, Siege of Corinth and Parisina (1816); Literary Panorama, 2nd Series, IV (June 1816), 417–420. The first paragraph alludes to Byron’s marriage and separation and to Byron’s satirical poems relating to the latter event. The tone of this review is much more moralistic and censorious than were earlier notices of Byron’s works, but it is difficult to ascertain whether the change results from a change of ownership in the periodical during the second series or whether it reflects a reaction to Byron’s separation.
