ABSTRACT

[Byron] Don Juan, III-V (1821); Literary Speculum, I (Nov. 1821), 1–5. The choice of this subject for the leading article of a new journal, as well as the tone of the review, shows the editor’s admiration of Byron’s genius. The praise of Wordsworth’s poetry, along with Byron’s, shows that the critic was aware of the main currents of poetic development by the 1820’s.
