ABSTRACT

Byron, The Corsair (1814); Mentor, Aug. 16, 1817, pp. 149–153; Aug. 23, 1817, pp. 161–164. The unknown contributor of this essay could not, apparently, fix on a pseudonym; he signs the first part “T,” and the second part “Erasmus.” The likelihood is that the editor used “T,” his contributor’s real initial, before receiving instructions to the contrary.
