ABSTRACT

[Wordsworth and Coleridge] Lyrical Ballads (1798); review by W. Heath, Antijacobin Review, V (April 1800), 434 [misprinted 334]. This notice of the first edition, second issue, of Lyrical Ballads appeared after that first edition had been sold out and after – partly on the basis of the earlier reviews – Wordsworth had determined to omit “The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere” from the second edition. The poem of Art. XXIII alluded to in the first sentence of this notice was Romaine Joseph Thorne’s Lodon and Miranda.
