Wordsworth, The Excursion (1814); review by James Montgomery, Eclectic Review, 2nd Series, III (Jan. 1815), 13–39. Montgomery, who preferred poems on the grand scale, takes the opportunity afforded by his positive review of The Excursion to demonstrate a greater appreciation of Wordsworth’s Poems (1807) (pp. 15–16) than he had done in his earlier review of those volumes (see above).
