ABSTRACT

Our quest for emotional meaning is in the face. The chapter explores the baby-face stereotype or the youthfulness of how we look. We look at how much control we have over our face, how aware we are of facial gestures, and to what extent they impact relationships of those round us. Leathers and Eaves compare the categorical with the dimensional perspective of facial communication. An extensive analysis of the face is presented in the three-part analysis of the FMST (Facial Meaning Sensitivity Task).
