ABSTRACT

Chapter 11 serves as self-supervisory support to therapists as they continue the practice of couple and family therapy. A checklist of questions is provided to remind the reader to address important common factor elements in their treatment planning. The chapter offers a practical approach to helping the reader through a self-reflexive review of their client system when they feel “stuck” or outside supervision/consultation is not readily available. Focusing on each of the common factors explored earlier in the book, this capstone chapter focuses on principles of deliberate practice and will give you a personalized roadmap to integration and increased therapeutic effectiveness.
