ABSTRACT

In this chapter the reader packs his/her bags to cross borders to investigate how entrepreneurship operates on an international canvas. In recognising the global phenomenon of entrepreneurship the reader obtains a critical overview of the meaning and scope of entrepreneurship and innovation in an international context, as well as the role of learning in international business and entrepreneurship. As part of the journey, we examine the internationalisation process in terms of traditional models together with new developments in venture creation and innovation. Distinctions are drawn between international business, international entrepreneurship and between internationalisation and globalisation to better understand new forms of network-centric organisations in an international, digital era.
