ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter, I argued that Christian divine command ethics can get in the way of face-to-face ethical obligation and the cosmopolitan ethic of love, peace, and compassion. In the present chapter, I will broaden the discussion a bit by considering the idea of human rights and its connection to a theocentric worldview. My thesis here is that the idea of human rights can be grounded in non-religious fashion.
