ABSTRACT

This chapter marks the beginning of the book’s micro section, which examines the effects of aid in its different forms on food security using household-level data; it looks at households living in Peru, Ethiopia, India and Vietnam, the same countries as examined in Chapter 4. This study hence draws on some of the background information already discussed and provides a micro-level counterpart to the macro-level study in the previous chapter. If findings in this study align with those from the previous one, they will bolster the robustness of the conclusions. If they are at odds, they will indicate that the aid-food security relationships differ when observed on the household as opposed to the country level.
