In her recent investigation for Schools Week, Laura McInerney identifi ed the phenomenon of tired teachers. Whilst noting that there is an increasing number of young qualifi ed teachers seeking work abroad, it may be that the ‘tired teacher’ goes some way to explaining the statistics. After all, around 50% of those leaving teaching tend to reappear in education in some form.
