ABSTRACT

Those of you who have arrived at this point via the previous chapters are living proof that, in spite of living with information ‘hyperabundance’, we’re still capable of engaging in long-form argument. There are those, like Nicholas Carr, author of The Shallows: How the Internet is Changing the Way We Think, Read and Remember , who will be delighted that you have practised the ancient art of ‘deep reading’. I stand right beside them as they shake your hands and thank you for joining us. I trust the trip has been worthwhile, without too many diversions or wrong turns. World of Workcraft though is not a destination, it is a waypoint. As we continue to innovate with digital motivation we will discover more about the field and about ourselves.
