ABSTRACT

In Decision Sourcing, it is expressed that the businesses are, like all social structures, organised around a common purpose economic activity. In fact, economic activity could even have been a critical part in human evolutionary development. Professional sellers are easy to measure. Bussinesses, in their efforts to maximise production, use the tools of classic economics too. Businesses today are built on assumptions derived from a largely unchanged neoclassical view of economics. Employers reward behaviour they want more of, and punish behaviour they want to reduce. They use financial incentives, bonuses and commissions as carrots whilst holding disciplinary processes, perhaps even termination of employment, as sticks. Nudges have been designed to help people save for retirement, make healthier eating choices and increase organ donations. In 2009, Swedish design company DDB along with car manufacturer Volkswagen launched Rolighetsteorin/Fun Theory, an initiative to change behaviours not with carrots, sticks or nudges, but with fun.
