ABSTRACT

This chapter examines a moderate breezes & pleasant weather from the SW quarter. At 2 PM the authors got under weigh with a strong Ebb Tide and made Sail out of the Typa. At 3 they sent a Boat on board a Portuguese Ship bound to Macao from Cochin China. As the authors pass'd to the West 2 or 3 miles of the Grand Landrone Dawanshan Dao, gradually increas'd our water to 12 fathoms, South Extreme of Landrone Grand bore S80E on with the outermost rock SW of the Asses Ears. Two remarkable peaks near the SW end of Beijian Dao; Mr Dalrymple makes the Rock bear more Southerly. Probably a Chart of Part of the Coast of China, and the adjacent Islands from Pedro Blanca to the Mizen.
