Here the authros remaind expecting the return of our Schooner. Calm and moderate wind South Easterly. Seeing nothing of the Tender throughout the day they made a Party in the Pinnace to examine a Harbor said to be situated on Macao Island. Possibly the shallow bay between the north end of Macau Harbour and a point 3 miles NNE. & which by appearance bore from us N41 West. The author stood towards Lantoe Tai Yue Shan, formerly Lantau but the Ebb Tide making strong against us we cou'd not weather the Small Isle of Chang Chiou, Ch'ing Chou, 105 metres high, and the northernmost of a group of small islands in the SE approach to Macau.
