ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the processes being undertaken by the UCTC to implement the spirit of the Ministerial Education Commission's recommendations into the curriculum and reflects on the place of the TRS within the curriculum. Three members of faculty were appointed to prepare a proposal for the implementation of the recommendations for Phase 2 of the core curriculum. The central aims of this half of the course are to enable students to develop their particular gifts and to further the objective of theological integration. The major strength of the TRS was that it developed a model and a method. While the Ministerial Education Commission's report and the proposal developed by the core curriculum committee developed models for theological education, they lacked a method. The White heads begin with ministerial experience that includes not only ministers, but also the wider community of faith. The key to the authentic theological reflection is the critical reflection on the experience.
